Those who know, know.
There are times in my life when I see or hear something and I am completely inspired. That's what happened when I first saw the artwork of Austrian painter Gustave Klimt. Immediately, I was struck by his bold and highly decorative style, which reminded me slightly of my own creative style. When I was able to see some of his original artwork up close and personal at a NYC museum I was very pleased. I say all that to say that my painting, "Esther's Tree," is an homage to Klimt.
I love to use silhouettes in my artwork because I want viewers to maybe see themselves in the piece. I love the contrast of the muted background, the metallic colors and the black in Esther's Tree. To me there is no better feeling than having the freedom in art to express your inner thoughts. Sometimes I feel that words fail me in expressing myself but art never does. Be inspired and inspire others.
